    Why Would Newer Paint Peel?

My brother in law painted a few different rooms in our house but in one room the paint started peeling on two different walls, I suspect the kids may have scratched the wall and started peeling it but should it have been able to peel off in the first place? I believe it was an indoor flat paint.

Porbably has more to do with the surface than the paint. The surface was probably not prepared or cleaned properly. You may have had an existing paint that required a primer or some other surfce preparation. Try reading the label and try to determine what kind of paint you were trying to cover. If it was an enamel than you may need a primer.

I have peeling paint in a few rooms in my house too but it was my own fault because I neglected to put primer on first.

Maybe it's because prime was not applied before you started painting.
